NCCS has established a biobank of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and plasma from SARS-CoV-2-infected and convalescent COVID patients, in partnership with the B.J. Medical College and the AFMC. The biobank serves as an invaluable resource for research aimed at learning more about COVID-19. NCCS is recognized as an ICMR-approved biorepository, being one of the 17 institutes listed in the document, 'Establishment of a Network of Biorepositories in India', published by ICMR on 23 July, 2020 (read HERE: https://www.icmr.gov.in/cbiorn.html). Researchers who propose to use the resources from this biorepository are required to have their projects reviewed and approved by the Access Control Committee (ACC). The NCCS biorepository has shared biomaterial with scientists from within and outside NCCS whose research projects were approved by the ACC in September 2020.
