Research Area & Interests :

I have varied research programs with me and one of which involved mass cultivation of animal cell lines in bioreactors, modeling of bio-reactors for animal cells, effect of shear on animal cells in bio-reactors. This was unique task for me as cultivation of animal cells is highly fastidious and needs different strategies. I also have experience in biopolymer development have developed polymers for tissue development in vitro. In the area of modern molecular biology I have expertise in Cloning of house keeping enzyme’s gene from insects and Leishmania. I also collaborate in programs involving characterization of insect cell lines, identification of bacteria and studying microbial physiology. The other and most important task which I have to perform is to completely manage the animal cell culture supply at NCCS as a Person in charge of animal cell culture repository. In last 12 years we have supplied approximately 10,000 cultures to Scientists located in 115 Institutions in India.
